Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the response. Pima County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact submission may be kept long enough to review the request and respond. The message remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor opens a page, the server may automatically receive basic technical and activity information, including:
- Page-view times and dates
- The referring website, when one is available
- Pages opened and the time spent on them
- Device category and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure patterns such as popular pages and points where visits end. Analytics providers combine this traffic information for reporting. A browser can be set to reject cookies, although turning them off may change how some features work.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Pima County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its reference material identifies official record channels, including the Pima County Sheriff's Department, the courts serving Pima County, the Arizona Department of Public Safety Central State Repository, and the Arizona Sex Offender Registry. This privately operated resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not combined into consumer reports or third-party criminal-record files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is handled under that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, Arizona courts, AZDPS, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Check that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across multiple websites to select interest-based ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed to a limited set of recipients:
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the pages
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and performance
- Search providers that process a visitor's submitted query
- Government or law-enforcement authorities when a valid legal order compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used security measures help protect collected information. No online service can guarantee complete security, however, and a breach cannot be ruled out despite those safeguards.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If information from a minor is identified, a request may be made for its prompt deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary based on where a visitor lives. In Arizona, the Arizona Public Records Law, A.R.S. Title 39, governs access to records held by public agencies, while A.R.S. § 41-1750 controls the Arizona Department of Public Safety Central State Repository and restricts criminal-history dissemination. Those laws do not turn this private resource into a government records office. A visitor may still:
- Object to certain forms of data processing
- Request deletion of personal information
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request a copy of personal information held about them
